Challenge

Hackney CVS (London Borough of Hackney Support services for the Voluntary and Community Sector) is uniquely placed to facilitate change for the better in Hackney, and to deliver its vision of a fairer society. With their vast array of networks, friends in the public sector and business world, and unique reach into local communities, they are at the forefront of tackling inequality in the borough.

To keep the local voluntary and community sector (VCS) vibrant and sustainable Hackney CVS needs to spend the next three years building on what they already have in place – supporting partnerships in the sector, maintaining and developing projects and services, and making the most of their productive relationships.

Action

As a collaborative team of multidisciplinary designers we helped deliver a new brand image with guidelines for their new vision.

We went on to deliver a new website based on the new brand strategy. Capturing mood was a key component of this project, highlighting key projects success through vivid image selections with a refined colour palette. Typographic hierarchy was crucial to display complex content in a clear manner, so we worked on various font combinations to define the final outcomes.

Focus

As result, a fresh looking, responsive and simple user interface to help users navigate and access content easily.

Finally we delivered a simple Content Management System (CMS) so HCVS were able to easily make updates to keep their users informed.
